Diabetes SA has been delivering services to people with diabetes and their families since 1953. 

As a not-for-profit, member-based Association that is largely self–funded, our mission is to reduce the risk and impact of diabetes in our community and to support people living with diabetes.
We are seeking a passionate Customer Service Officer to join our Member Services Team. 

The Opportunity

The Customer Service Officer plays an important role, working closely within a supportive and dedicated team, under the supervision and leadership of the Member Services & Retail Operations Manager.

The Customer Service Officer is a diverse role that is an essential part of the Member Services Area, contributing to its smooth operations. They are responsible for sales and service in the retail and online shop, handling inbound calls, and supporting administrative duties related to membership, fundraising, education, product enquiries, and the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS). 

The Customer Service Officer plays a crucial role in driving income through Retail product sales, increasing membership growth, and maintaining membership retention. This is accomplished through face-to-face interactions, as well as inbound and outbound cold calling, while ensuring a high level of customer service for Members of the Association, NDSS Registrants, and the general public.

About you

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a team setting, possesses sales and administrative skills, and has a proven history of delivering outstanding customer service.

  • Proven experience in meeting set KPIs and customer service standards.
  • The ability to work cooperatively as part of a team whilst managing own workload.
  • Proficient in managing both incoming and outgoing phone calls, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales, while effectively addressing any customer concerns or objections.
  • Experience in using computer technology in support of sales, membership, accounting, and inventory.
  • Ability to engage with a variety of customers and stakeholders, including culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Accurate and efficient CRM data entry skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience in Retail stock management and cash handling procedures.

Award remuneration is on offer supported by the conditions provided in the Clerks Private Sector Award 2020 Level 3.  Salary packaging is also offered.
