Diabetes SA has been delivering services to people with diabetes and their families since 1953. As a not for profit, member-based Association that is largely self – funded, our mission is to educate, advocate, support and fund research that provides better outcomes for people at risk or living with diabetes. 

Empowering people to live well with diabetes and raising awareness for those at risk is our vision for all South Australians. 

We are now seeking an Accredited Exercise Physiologist to join the Health & Service Delivery team. The role will work closely with the existing Health & Service Delivery team to deliver comprehensive diabetes self-management programs in both a group and one-on-one setting. 

Applicants must have experience in a clinical or community setting providing clinical exercise interventions to manage the condition and restore optimal physical function, health, or wellness.

Essential criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology (or equivalent)
  • Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) status with ESSA
  • Experience in delivering health education, information, and support in a group setting or on an individual basis.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality, evidence-based exercise physiology services, focusing on chronic conditions, including diabetes.
  • Exceptional skills in exercise prescription & programming.
  • Ability to work independently, applying professional judgement on routine matters.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating diabetes programs and services.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • High-level interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplined team while demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and initiative.
  • Current SA Driver’s Licence.
