Structure

As required under the Act, the Association is governed by a Board of Management and managed on a day to day basis by a Chief Executive Officer, management team and staff.

The Board of Management is comprised of nine members. Four of these members include the President, two Vice Presidents and a Treasurer. The remaining five positions are held by Committee Members. The Board of Management are required by constitution to be members of the Association.

Sincere thanks must be extended to the Board of Management who volunteer their time each month and give of their vast experience and knowledge to govern the Association:

Peter Crouch, President

  • I am a Police Inspector with the South Australian Police. I have a Diploma in Management (Human Resources), a Graduate Certificate in Applied Management and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.   • I have had type 1 diabetes and membership with Diabetes SA since 1978. My work experience includes various roles with three banks, self-employment as a truck then van carrier, various roles with four Commonwealth Government departments and now retired. We have yet to find a cure, so I am keen to support the work of Diabetes SA to increase awareness of diabetes in the community, and be at the forefront with education and self-management information and services.

  • After 42 years in Banking including various Senior Management roles, I have now retired allowing me to provide experience and knowledge to Diabetes SA. I am keen to assist the Association on the Board of Management to further research and education whilst ensuring a strong Association with ongoing support of services for its Members.

  • I have over 24 years experience at an executive level in the financial services industry including nine years as the CEO of Powerstate Credit Union. I have held senior management positions in the Commonwealth Government and State Government Statutory Authorities embracing Defence, Pre-School and Child Care. I have extensive Board experience in organisations engaged in Financial Services, Information Technology, Aged Care, Community Services in both the profit and not-for-profit sectors. I am currently a Director of Credit Union SA and Board Chair of Trinity Place Aged Care.

  • I hold tertiary qualifications in Business, Industrial Engineering and Information System and have over 30 years’ experience as an IT professional in both public and private sectors in Australia and overseas. I have a wide ranging knowledge of the application of IT to business requirements, developing and managing relationships across very different communities and organisations, including developing new and innovative approaches to services and service delivery at Hewlett- Packard. I have recently completed five years working on the design and selection of the IT infrastructure and systems for the new Royal Adelaide Hospital. I am now an independent IT consultant working with clients locally and overseas, and also am a lecturer and tutor at the University SA. I am a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society in recognition of my distinguished contribution to the IT profession.

  • With over 20 years of experience in the public health care system, I am passionate about the provision of quality health care based on best practice evidence. I have a Bachelor of Nursing, Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science, Bachelor of Laws, Masters in Healthcare Administration and am currently the Director of Nursing for Central Rehabilitation Service. As the mother of a teenager with type 1 diabetes, I know firsthand the challenges that are faced and the importance of quality education and support to overcome these challenges.

  • I have wide experience in the not-for-profit, public and private sectors. I am currently Adjunct Professor in the School of Economics at the University of Adelaide, a member of the Investment Process Committee at JCP Investment Partners and a member of the Board of Down Syndrome SA. I have previously served on the boards of the Adelaide Central Market, the Children’s Protection Society, Prahran Market (Chairman) and Wheat Exports Australia. I have also served as Professor and Head of the School of Economics at the University of Adelaide and as CEO of both the Essential Services Commission of SA and A T Kearney (Australia and New Zealand).
